Question   Red River Gorge
RandyThanks for your comment on my red leaf shot.
The Gorge looks like a wonderful place to shoot.
I see you travel a lot. If you are ever up my way: Ottawa, drop in and we can go out for a couple of trips.

- Mike Bachman June 09, 2010

  Answer Mike,

Thanks for stopping in and commenting. The Gorge is my favorite hiking spot around here, wonderful place to get away as well as to shoot.

Thanks for the invite. If I make it up your way, will give a call. Please do the same if you have some time to stop in KY.

Keep shooting,

Randy

Question   signature
Randy how do you imprint your signature on the photos?

- Evelyn Parrish May 04, 2010

  Answer Hi Evelyn,

Thanks for visiting and your query.

Ans: I edit all my photos in Photoshop (especially the last steps) and use the type tool to insert my signature. There are other ways to do this in Photoshop. Check out Scott Kelby's books, he has some suggestions.

Best of luck,

Randy

Question   lens
Beautiful work. I also use Canon. What lens did you use for your home page shot?

- Holly Gedert April 14, 2010

  Answer Dear Holly,

Thanks for the kudos. For the shot you refer to, I used my walk-around lens, which is the EF-S 17-85mm IS. I like the wide angle that this lens can give (and this image was shot at).

Thanks for stopping in. Cheers

Question   Wonderful Images Randy!

Randy Black

- Randy Black April 13, 2010

  Answer Hi Randy

Thanks for stopping in and for the compliments. Yes, I do have a few hanging around the house, as well as a few other places around town. If truth be told, it was one of the reasons I started this in earnest. One weekend I was at an art festival with the purpose to buy something to hang, and after seeing some of the photos for sale, I realized that this was something that I could (and wanted to) do. I went out and bought my first digital SLR the following weekend. The learning curve has been all what I thought it would be (and more), and the enjoyment has been all I thought it would be (and more!!).

Thanks again for stopping in.

Cheers

Randy

Question   Your Gallery
What a cool website you have here!!! I've enjoyed my visit tonight, Randy. I ventured off into your waterfalls, with the slide show, and didn't want it to end. Lucky for me it didn't! HA! (Looping!)

I'll be sure and come back to enjoy more another time.

Very impressive and enjoyed your BIO as well. (I can identify with the flat camera blues. I have them!) ;)

Question   What Equipment Do You Use
hi Randy,

I really loved your macro photography shoots. What impressed me most is the sharpness, depth of field, and color.

I am just starting out and liek yourself I enjoy capturing images of flower detail.

I bought an extension tube but the depth of field is very shallow.

Do you mind telling me what lens/camera you used.

Question   Randy Dinkins!
You NEVER cease to amaze me!
I was mesmerized by your photographs. I never could have imagined that your woodland wanderings would turn into this. WOW!

- Ivy McLaurin June 19, 2009

Answer Hello Ivy – Thanks. A little older, hopefully a little wiser, but still having fun. The photography is a fairly new addition, but it ha been a lot of fun on several fronts. It has gotten me back out woodland wondering again with a new appreciation, and the technical aspects have been a challenge for the methodical minded Dinkins. Hope to fix this site up and add more photos in the near future. Thanks for stopping by and for saying “Hello”. Hope you are well. Cheers - RD
